I have a 180gal reef. Current stock list:
Yellow Tang
Kole Tang
Chocolate Tang
Foxface
Bi-colour Blenny
Osc Clown
Sixline Wrasse
Sand Sifter (don't know what kind, about 4")

I want to add some blue/green chromis as the last additions and am looking for opinions as to the right number to add.

Thanks

I have 5 in my 180.
Here's 3 of 'em.

if you want the "schooling" look add 5 or more. i have also heard they do better in a small school if it has an odd number of fish. supposedly less aggression.

I think the odd number thing is crap, honestly. Do you really think the fish know if there are 8 or 9 fish?

If you are talking about 2 or 3 I'm sure there is a difference, but once you get over a trio I don't think it matters.

I got 10 about 3 yrs ago and was down 2 in my 120.
They act like a pair and have distinctively different markings.
I added three "African" chromis from the lfs close to the same size to those 2 in my 180.

i bought 9 about a year ago for my 180 because i was told to get odd numbers. for reasons unknown to me they sort out themselves how many they want in your tank. so for me i have had 6 in my tank for the last 11 1/2 months !

Thanks everyone! I ended up getting 5, but I think I'll go back and grab a couple more as they're not making quite the impact I wanted... and since there doesn't seem to be an 'optimum' number, why not?

I don't know why more people don't have these cute little guys in their tanks!
