I need to know what should be added to a reed tank to keep everything healthy? I have one candy cane and the rest are all softy corals but what do i need? Iodine? or any other addidtives i dont know.

water changes! thats all you need to do. you should check for calcium, alk, and magnesium, and if they are low adjust accordingly. never add anything you dont test for. thats rule number one. Iodine is one of the elements that should be left to water changes. heres an article on water chemistry, and what each element does.

I agree with the bug. I only test for Alkalinty, Calcium, Magnesium. Adjust as needed and nothing else. I see lots of "stuff" out there and most just complicates your reefing experience. The chemistry forum is good check it out.

Oh and I also test for Nitrates. But that is an indicator of husbandry and my ability to care for the critters.

Pat
