Adding female fairy wrasses to already established males?

I would like to try and pair up a couple of the male fairy wrasses that are already in my tank. Will this be a problem as some of the males have been established for close to a year?

What can I do to lessen agression to the newcomers?

I QT all new arrivals for at least 6 weeks before adding to the display, will the newly aquired females change during this time if I don't have a male with them?

Would I be better off looking for pairs to buy, and sell off the males that are currently in the tank?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Only looking to do pairs? I have had good luck adding multiple females at the same time to established males using an acclimation box.

May consider doing harems, the problem is finding multiple females. Also, would qting multiple females together increase the likelyhood of one of them transitioning to male during the qt process?

Good to see you around Scott, how is the tank doing?

I would suggest putting the males you have into QT with the female(s) you get for them. A lone female or harem of females can become male or have a male form in a surpringingly short amount of time. When adding the pair or harem to your DT, use an acclimation box and release them at night. Aggression should be little if any this way.
