Adding fish between shipments?

Just wondering what people thought of adding a fish between the first and second shipment of rock. I was thinking of adding some thing that would take care of the large algae plants that have grown up from the sand and rock. Thanks in advance,

I wouldn't add fish, Brett. Try some snails and Hermit crabs.

well - I was converting from a FO to a TBS tank so I did have fish in my tank.

The positive: you have some movement in the tank other than hitcher bugs/worms/crabs/

The bad: pods don't have a chance to populate, parasitic bugs may be in the tank waiting to harvest your fish, the ammonia produced by the fish may disrupt your tank parameters.

I would suggest (if possible) to get the "cool" fish you want and put it in the QT until part 2 arrives.
