Adding fish to my new tank...

I recently added a cleaning crew to my new 24G tank. 20lbs of live rock (cycled), all ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and ph tests ok. I added 1xarrow crab, 1xemerald crab, 9xhermits, 4xnassius snails, and 4xastra snails. All is doing well and tests say Im ok to add...

I would love suggestions for fish (as I am very limited due to tank size) and also should I add the two cleaner shrimp as planned before fish, after, same time? I'd appreciate any advice you can give.

24G? Hmm... Yea, you can add the shrimp. Be careful with wrasse, and some others too, b/c they'll go after your expensive shrimp. 2 cleaners should be ok but if you put a fire shrimp in there it might get territorial. You can look through the LiveAquaria.com listings to see what they have that will work with 24G and won't hurt your shrimp, and if will work with your reef or non-reef tank. Check out royal gramma, pseduochromis?, dwarf angels maybe. You're gonna have to stick with small fish. So I'd look through what looks nice and see if it fits your criteria.

I would wait a month or 2 then get a pair of maroon clowns. They are awesome, and have great personalities. Good luck on choosing some fish

Clownfish are ok for small tanks b/c they're not big swimmers. Tend to stay in one spot. They can be agressive... especially towards other clowns. SO I don't know about getting 2 unless they "mated". That could cost a lot extra. Plus they might change their behavior going to a new environment. They just won't tolerate another clown and will fight to the death. Also.. hopefully you can get one that will do without a host aneome. They really aren't very happy w/o and it could affect their overall health and lifespan. But otherwise it is a good choice.

Not a good choice, as stated only if they are mated. Also, 2 of them in a 24? would be a train wreck. 1 per 30gal is suggested. I definitely would not add a maroon first, too aggressive. Rule of thumb--Always add the least aggressive fish first. Hope i could help.

The tank has been running near 4 weeks, cleaners in there for the past week. All tests(ph, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia) have been great running them every second/third day for the last ten days or so.

Thanks all about the clownfish, one type me and the wife have been looking at but again the possibility of being territorial makes us think they should be last if at all.

in hindsight, a bigger reef tank would have been the better choice, but we are invested into this 24 for now. Hoping for the experienced reefers out there to advise on their experience to avoid the bad decisions and sad, costly mistakes I know I'll have along the way.

Again, thanks all for the help! Wonderful hobby but without the help I can see it becoming a disaster!
