Adding kalkwrasser to balling lite to balance water chemistry

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can advise on doing as in the title, I've run balling lite for over 4 years now, with no real issues, but have recently been reading up on using kalk as a way to replenish alk and ca, in a balanced manner. I have 2 reasons for considering this, 1) to improve the ionic salt balance so I don't have to monitor salinity levels and do weekly water changes, removing water etc. 2) my ph is always in the 7.8 - 8.0 region slightly lower than nsw, which I'm starting to believe is important in the long term success of an sps system. My questions are do any of the chemists in here have a scientific answer to Point 1, will it improve the ionic balance etc or am I merely complicating things without much real benefit, and is a stable but low ph detrimental? I'm trying to run my whole system as close to nsw levels as possible and have never been able to attribute low ph to any issues, would my reef benefit by having a stable ph of 8.3 - 8.4? I will be adding about 3-4L per day of kalkwrasser daily this amount will be tweaked alongside my balling amounts to get to a level of ph 8.4, alk 6.9 and Ca 400. Your thought on the chemistry and value of doing this would be greatly appreciated. I have come up with a system that should eliminate the risk of Kalk overdosing so that risk isn't a consideration at this time. I've also posted this on chemistry forum.
Cheers Paul
