Adding live sand to current tank

I just want to make my DSB deeper. Its alright to just turn off the flow and pour it in right?

I used a 1 inch pvc pipe it really cut down on the cloudiness

I would add it slowly. If you dump it in, you will have a lot of die off from the surface of the existing sand. You run the risk of an ammonia spike.

^ agreed, add it slowly to reduce any disruption of ur current bacteria load
