adding live sand

hey guys i jst went down on that long trip to west salem and kevin gave me about 150lbs of free live sand thanks kevin but anyways i put all of it into my 55gal that had nothing in it but a heater and powerhead my question is how do i transfer it to my 150gal tank that has all my LR corals and fish right now the tank is bare bottom if i transfer it all into my 150 wont that cause ammonia spikes and others crazy water spikes also the 150g has only been running for about one week with fish and corals and about onew month with the live rock thanks

Clean the sand and use a turkey baster and suck up the sand and place the sand where you need it. It will take some time.

Take a piece of PVC pipe about 2" in diameter, long enough to reach the bottom of the tank and the top out of the water. place the bottom end in the tank where you want to deposit the sand and then scoop and pour the sand down the inside of the pipe. This should get the sand where you want it and help keep the sand storm down. HTH Regards
