Adding New Sand in Hyposalinity Treatment

Hi everybody,
I'm droping salinity to 1009. My tank is bare bottom and no live rock now.
I've 2 leopards wrasses, 1 yellow tail tamarin, 1 black leopard and 1 solarensis wrasse.
If i want to put new live sand for wrasses during the treatment, what do you think will it be problem.

Just add a dry sand after its rinsed well. Bio active sand or true live sand will be no benefit and most likely pollute the tank.
