Adding pistol shrimp

I have a diamond watchman goby. If I add now a pistol shrimp, will they pair to symbiotic life? If positive what pistol shrimp is recommended for reef tank with clams?

I've had two tiger pistol shrimp - but not at the same time. Each one paired up with the Yellow Watchman Goby pretty quick - within a day or two.

I got the first tiger and the Yellow Goby at the same time but they did not arrive paired already - actually came from different places.

The first one died (victim of a rockslide) and the goby was alone for several weeks. Then I got the second - he was huge and I was nervous that he would immediately kill the goby, but they found each other and lived together like lovers.

Maybe I just got lucky twice as I've heard it's a crapshoot, but it looked easy.

Can't help on recs for specific species.

I think the Diamond Goby is one of the types that doesn't pair up with Pistol Shrimp. They just shift sand on their lonesome. Just like some species of Pistol Shrimp don't pair up with any Goby. Be careful if you do get a Shrimp-Goby pair--my Diamond Goby used to like to dump sand in their burrow and bury them under.

2 months and counting and my pistol and YWG still have 0 interest in each other. Depsite sharing a burrow in the LFS. But my pistol is a nutcase he doesnt burrow much, mostly hides in a cave or under my elegance.
