Adding Sand to Barebottom

I'm contemplating adding sand to my barebottom tank. My initial thought was to just have coralline cover the bottom but I'm just not happy with the look. It's a mixed reef with fish so I really don't want it to cloud. Should I leave as is or does anyone have ideas to add sand without causing issues?

Rinse the sand really well and add a little each day. Run filter socks to help with the cloudiness.

You can pour it down a pipe you put in the tank. That way it wont fly around when falling to the bottom. As long as you get it rinsed really well the cloudiness will be quite minimal and not long lasting .

Or just take big bowls of it and slowly lower the bowls to the bottom and empty them slowly on the bottom. Turn your powerheads off when you do it. Again cloudiness will be quite minimal .
