Adding sand....

I have about 80lbs of aragonite gravel in my tank- but I think I would like to ad a layer of sand (so the yellow watchman can burrow and stuff.

Is it safe to add sand to a tank with inhabitants already in it? If so, how should I go about doing it? Wouldnt it cloud up the tank like the aragonite did?

Well when I added more sand to my already establish tank, I used the already moist live sand, and just put some in a cup and slowly spread it on the bottom of the tank. The sand will cloud your tank some, but it should just last about 30 min.

If you have corals and etc. I would increase the flow in your tank so the sand won't cover the corals with particles that didn't settle to the bottom. Are you going to keep the aragonite (I'm guessing crush coral) in the tank?
