adding second clown

I just fed my fish, 2 of which are perc clowns. One of them just died by choking on a piece of food. I got to him too late even though I got the food out of his mouth and throat.

Can I add another perc clown in the near future? The previous two hung out together and were originally purchased as a trio 3 years ago. The two that I had killed the 3rd after a month or so. I was wondering how successful people were adding a second clown after one had died.

As long as you add the correct size perc, it shouldn't be an issue. Which one died, the larger (female) or smaller (male)?

The smaller perc died.

My female perc jumped from the tank. I fixed the open spot and replaced her two days later with one about the same size as the old female. The two seem fine. I let them look at each other through the bag and they never fought once introduced. They also started hosting the same anemone.
