Does the gate valve mod improve performance of the ASM skimmers?

I would say that It makes it far easier to dial in the skimmer. I dont recall seing any increase in performance when I addded my gate valve.

It's mostly for fine tuning... plus you don't have to wrestle with the standpipe in the sump

:lol: I would say that the gate valve does nothing for the performance of the skimmer. It does increase your ability to set it right I hated those adjustable risers and told myself never, ever again. The gate valve is a necessity if you are anything like me and got sick fighting with that stupid riser tube. I'm surprised mine was still in one piece due to the air time it got!
