My buddies tank crashed about a month ago and i rescued this guy. I believe it is a candy cane....is that correct?
The tissue was about 3/4 gone when I got him and it receeded a little more after I put him in my tank. Since then, and for the last 3-4 weeks, it appears to have stopped recessing and the polyps that are left appear to be recovering.
I'd like advice as to whether i should break off all of the old skeleton branches that no longer have polyps, OR should i leave it alone. I can see one new branch growing from between the dead branches, but it's still quite short. Anything else I should do to help bring this guy back? I have him sitting on the sand bottom under a 250W 10k MH bulb. The tank is about 24" deep and the light sits about 2" off the water. Flow is moderate where I have him.
