hey guys my fish seem to be doing better. i will be keeping them in QT till the 25th when the Herbtana treatment is over.....they are eating, even the larger clown which i was worried about...im doing a 1g water change everyday just to make sure i keep any ammonia and trates down...my question is even though they are eating walmart shrimp pellets which i mash up in my fingures and the stuff SA sent along with em, i cant get them to hardly touch dried krill and they wont eat nori or raw shrimp which i'd like them to because it is so cheap to get nori and raw shrimp.......is there anything special i can do to get them to eat nori and raw shrimp....thanks guys

Try soaking the shrimp in garlic "juice". You can use raw minced garlic that comes in the jar at the grocery (just drain off the juice to use) or Seachem makes a product called Garlic Guard. It makes the food kinda stinky, but fish seem to love it.

couldnt also after soaking the food in it and seeing if that like that, that i just chop up all my food along with that garlic also

Clowns won't eat nori. It's not a part of their diet. Also, are you feeding just plain raw shrimp? I have had very good success with my fish feeding formula2 flake from ocean nutrition.

Mario, truthfuly, that type of shrimp isnt part of their "normal" diet. I would suggest you move toward a more mixed diet for them. as I said previously, I have had Great success with Formula 2 form Ocean Nutrition. they also make good frozen foods. its pretty darn cheap and with your numbers, a mid sized canister will last for many months. for example, I have a 2.5oz canister and i have fed it to my tangs since I got them in August, and I have over 1/3rd of it left. they are big eaters and I feed it once daily. I usually order it online from petsolutions but AC has it.

I know alot on here are not advocates of the flakes, but I have had good success with them and some very healthy tangs that Bill and Anthony can attest to as they are in their tanks now. I do supplement with a frozen mixture that yes includes minced raw shrimp, but that is not the main staple of their diet.

i'll think about that, sounds good....i was just gonna try mixing my own food of shrimp, seaweed, pellet food, oysters and such

Linsey,

I guess my clowns are weird cause they all eat nori. ALL my fish actually, chromis does it too, all 4 of my clowns, and of course tangs and foxface eats nori.

Mario,

If your attending the meeting at EBay, check to see if they sell Prime Reef Flakes by Oceans Nutrition. It's a really good flake food!!! Of course I feed frozen food as well along with everything. But I mainly feed Prime Reef Flakes. If they don't carry it, I know Critters or Fins both carries them.
