hello. im looking to add a couple new fish for my 65gallon and would appreciate anyones suggestions/advice. ill give some background info on my tank as im sure that will help. just got done testing my water with salifert test kits ( ammonia, nitrates, nitrites and ph ) and all tests were perfect. my tank is a 65gallon that has been up for about 3 months. i have a 6 bulb HO T5 lighting system, but am not looking at adding corals right now, as i want to take everything nice and slow, maybe at the 6 month mark i might start on corals. i have BakPak protein skimmer with a maxijet 1200 for the pump, and hang on refugium full of chaeto. for circulation i have 3 maxi jet 1200 on a wave maker so have pretty good flow. thats all i can think of on the specs of my tank, now to my question. temp. goes between 79.5 and 80.0 and SG 1.024.

right now i have about 80lbs of live rock, and approx. 1" of sand on the bottom. for live stock all i have is 2 green chromis and about 10 snails and about 10 hermit crabs. so im wanting to add some fish. here is what im thinking. i looked at liveaquaria and thats where i got most of the fish i want and there tank size recommendations. and i tried to select fish that were peaceful.

Green Clown Goby
Yellow Clown Goby
Citrinis Clown Goby
Catalina Goby
could i keep more than 1 Goby in a 65? i really like them all

Flame Angel

Royal Gramma Baslet
Macneill's Assessor Baslet ( Blue Assessor ) i really like this fish

Canary Blenny (pair)
Midas Blenny

Long Nose Hawkfish

Bi Color Pseudochromis
Purple Pseudochromis
Purple Stripe Pseudochromis
can these fish be kept together?

Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse

i know thats alot of fish and i dont plan on getting them all, but wanted other's opinion on my choices and i try to plan on what direction im going with my tank, instead of just buying the "prettiest" fish at the store. so any advice i could get on these fish would be appreciated, thanks.

OK, first things first....replace your skimmer. I have a bakpak on a 29g tank for my son, and even there I don't think it's a good enough skimmer. OK, now that I got that out of my system....

I have a 58g Oceanic. Basically the same dimensions as your tank, just a couple inches shorter. I'm hoping you aren't planning on putting nearly that many fish in there. Currently I have a black perc, yellow watchman goby, a 3 pack of longspine cardinals, and a solar wrasse. I might put one more fish in there, but that might be pushing it. I think with your skimmer, I probably wouldn't do more than 5 fish total for now. I like what selection I have. The clown stays front and center with his frogspawn. The 3 pack of cardinals go wherever, but they are pretty much always together(great fish, look in to them, also called blue eyed cardinals). The yellow watchman doesn't do too much other than hang around his little rock cave, but I like him none the less. The solar wrasse I just added a week or so ago. I really like him because he adds a little more of the swim around motion my other fish don't give me.

As far as your list. Not a big fan of clown gobies and such unless it's a small tank. They'll probably be lost in your tank. Flame angel is a crap shoot if it'll pick on corals(when you get them) or not. Pseudo's can be aggressive and I'm not sure if you could keep more than one. Wrasses are jumpers, so make sure you have a well covered tank...which I would make sure of anyway. And I mean well covered. There are lots of options I just think you need to narrow your choices down a bit and see what you can obtain locally.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don't get the purple pseudochromis...it was the meanest nastiest fish I've ever had. I had to tear down a 125 that I had JUST gotten the way I wanted to get it out. It bothered EVERYTHING. Clowns, tangs, gobies, etc etc.

Now, there are two that are similar...I THINK the one I had was the one with clear fins. Someone that knows these fish better than I can help with that. I believe the one that is NOT aggressive has fins the same color as the body. I'm trying to google it to give you better info, but for now I can't find it specifically. My LFS at the time is the one that told me that this hellwithfins was reefsafe. Not so much. :hammer:
