Hi all,

*Just starting a tank again after a few years break from the last largely unsuccesful reef aquarium I had.*

Very simple setup at present;

24 gallon cube with glass topRo waterInstant ocean salt7kg of liverockLess thab 1 inch coral substrate

Blau 18w cheap lightFluval sea 425 gphAquaclear 30 hob filterEhaum heater

Firefish2 Cleaner shrimp

Looking to get a couple of clownfish for my kids benefit and more cleaning crew and will leave it at that.*

I know its a very simple set up but do you think its alright??Want to upgrade to simple reef later with a few easy corals so plan to upgrade lighting and slat at some point.Would love any advice that people have?

sounds good but corals are never easy due to algae. i think firefish may kill firefish. you need more commas.

Thanks for thr reply.
Yea sorry, was having problems posting the message and got fed up with re-writing it. Only got one firefish. Two shrimps.

Am I likely to have algae problems with coral with current setup if I keep on top of the water changes?

even experts can have algae problems. if you want things simple i wouldn't get them. don't get anymore shrimps as they tend to kill the 3rd shrimp.
