advice on PC controllers to get

I am thinking of doing a basement/1st floor set-up with a slightly larger system. 300g sump, 100g fuge located 10-12' below a 100g display (display already set-up). I would like to do all skimming, ATO, kalk etc from basement (as well as cooling), also control lights from basement.
I am very unfamiliar with controllers but I would like a one I can control with my laptop from either upstairs or in the basement, with ability to control via internet (if possible). Can anyone steer me in the right direction with the most options for future expansion/options? I am also going to talk to a controller co. just didn't want to get sold on something I didn't need!
