Advice on returns

Got the system up and did a freshwater run. Just one problem that will be fixed when I get the part I ordered!

Needs some advice on the returns in the tank. The pipeing in the return goes from 1in to 3/4 which I then shoot out into the tank. Doing the test run I just connected some 90's together to make sure it flowed. I don't like the look of the piping in the tank, what would be recommended to use? Is loc line any good?


Also one of my drains, drains when the overflow is not completely full. However it drains in the tubing! I only hand tightened the pvc into the bulkhead(tank side), and it is just a small trickle. aside from when the system is shut down will this be a problem when the system is up and going full time?

I use loc line and love it. It's a nice clean look. Occasionally there is a bit of salt creep around it but nothing a quick wipe doesn't fix.

What kind of nozzle do you use?

I use the round on my frag tank and flat on my display.

Pics would help. Do u have an overflow box? Could be that your overflow box has a leak which could be causing your slow leak

He just means there is a leak in the stand pipe. It won't really be an issue unless your sump can't handle the extra water when the return is off...
