Advise on saving monti caps..

I have 12 1-3" green monti cap frags that are bleaching. They were bright green and are now a mint color. Totally my fault. I bought a used t5 fixture that had used bulbs.( no idea how old the were) and as a result was starting to get a lot of cyano. I went ahead and ordered new bulbs and shut down the old bulbs for 2 1/2 days to get a head start on the cyano before the new bulbs came in. So basically my tank went from no lights to BAM! new bulbs. Now the caps had already lost color before the lights came back on but I don't think blasting them with new bulbs helped much.
After a few days I put them in the sand. They still have decent polyp extension but haven't started to color back up. Anyway suggestions on helping these guys come back are appreciated.

Chill out with the lights. Sounds like you already know whats up. They are about the easiest SPS there is. Start with a few hours of light and slowly ramp it up.
