advise to frag from freshly brought sps colony?

Hi all,

Normally i will frag some sticks from my friend's
wild sps colony after he brought a day or to a weeks
however the survival rate is only 20 percent

Is it advisable not to frag within such a short period?

I normally don't frag anything for at least two weeks...that gives it time to adjust to the system it is in
