Affixing corals in place in the tank?

Is there a way to fix corals in place in the tank without taking all of your rocks out? I thought people have mentioned doing it with super glue...?

yes.. totally safe (may cause skimmer to go crazy for a bit)..
But its harmless to the creatures..

Frankly I'm not a fan of the putty that I've used in the past.. It can work put really needs to be "pressed" into the rock to grip nicely.. But it does work just fine..

The putty is less effective than it used to be. I gave up on it except for creating bonds between rocks. Superglue gel all the way. Lift coral out, apply blob of gel, set coral in place and hold it to a count of 60. It will harden underwater.

Superglue may sound scary, but AIH it was created for medical purposes, wound sealing after stitches where skin is fragile.

I use a combination... Gel/putty/gel/frag. Also I use regular underwater putty. The two part for plumbing repairs. I have had great success like this. I read the method somewhere, possibly Melev's Reef? Not sure, but it defiantly was not my idea. Credit should go where it's deserved but I just can't place it...

When you do affix the corals in place, always give yourself an out. Just as an example, instead of just smashing that epoxy into each and ever crevice, leave a side open.. This will allow you to pop it off the rocks if need be.

Sliding a razor blade flush along the plug can work. It all depends on the growth though. If the plug has been encrusted, just cut the leg off and secure it to the rocks. Sooner or later you'll never know the frag plug was there.
