Looking for any information on this blenny. Breeding care etc. Have aquired 4 and am wanting to set up breeding prs. There are distinct difference in two of the four, although they all have the lyretail and blue eye color. Two are intense yellow where the other two are a bluish gold color. Two of opposite color have moved in together. No fighting yet. I have all four fish in the same tank with a pr of aptasia eating filefish.
Thanks in advance
Teresa

I also have tried to find info on them. I purchased 6 of them aprox. 6 months ago. I put 2 in my 240 gal. reef tank & 4 in one of my 15 gal. breeding tanks. To much fighting & with an egg crate cover I had 2 of them jump out. Still with only 2 in the 15 gal tank, fighting & chasing. One more jumped. Moved the last one in the 240 so now I have 3. One jumped on the center top of the tank. So now I have 2 that for the most part get along. If anything good happens I'll post it.

4 in a 15gal tank, you have to put 2 in and watch for a while and trade them off with each other as needed they might nip a eacher for a while but should stop or slow it down after 2-3 hours note;it helps if all the fish are acclamated to the same water befor you try to pair them in the water that thay are acclamated to.

I put 6 in a 10 gal Q tank for 2 weeks with a lot of pvc parts for hiding. I used the water from the system they were going into for water changes. Even with 3 in a 240 gal reef tank there was problems.

I have 2 that are best friends from the bunch i got. So am thinking they are a pair. They look just alike except one is a duller yellow than the other. Blue eyes so they are definately african midas. I have them in a 30 gal.

i just found the third one and it is female also. So have a colony of 1 male and 2 females and they all get along. I read that males will breed with more than one female at a time and you will have ongoing nest available. So we will see.
