After cleaning a skimmer does it get weird for a bit?

I took out the collection cup and cleaned it with a toothbrush and it hasn't skimmed since I cleaned it, common? Used hot water.

Mine always skims better after I clean it out good. All I use is hot water as well. What kind of skimmer is it?

I just cleaned the cup.

I did a quick clean before and it seemed to work fine. hot water and toothbrush.

Did a heavier scrub on it this time and the bubbles are barely going up the tube.

maybe I move the height of the cup?

its common. when i just rinse my skimmer cup its goes back to skimming quick. when i scrub it real good it takes a little bit to break back in.

I just wanted to scrub bc that smell was lethal.
