After Months of Reading.....

I finally got my tank last night. AGA 120RR. I've already put a few coats of paint on the back,

and cut some diffuser to keep the rock off the glass.

Now I'm going to build a platform from wall to wall to raise the tank up a bit and have a level, waterproof platform to set the tank on.

This is a before shot. Hopefully the lumber is being delivered tomorrow. I'm starting to get into this!

I got most of the platform done today. It is made from 2x8's and is nailed into 3 bearing walls so it should be nice and sturdy.

The trim still needs to be caulked and painted but I'm beat.

That raised platform with the hardwood floor was a great idea! Looks like a perfect spot for a tank too.
