after the calcium reactor

I don't know what it is but every time after I hook up my calcium reactor to my 75 gallon tank all the coralline alge on my tank starts to turn white even the green coralline turns white, all the parameters in my tank are good, is not the first this happens any idea or suggestions:mad:

DKH 9
CA 440
nitrate 0
phosphate .3
PH8.2

What happens to the params when the reactor is hooked up? Is the pH going down? How long does it take to notice the effect?

all the parameters stay the same the only thing is that the DKH and the CA stay put neither one goes down and the coralline starts changing colours in like 2 to 3 days!

I forgot to mention that if a rock that has purple coralline in the bottom get turn upside down the coralline in the bottom doesn't turn white until it starts to get light!

That phosphate looks high for good coralline growth, and the reactor may release more if the media has substantial phosphate in it.

wow what and honor to have you answer one of my questions I'm a big fan of yours I have read so many of your articles about reef chemistry they are so educative, anyway thanks for the answer I will test my phosphates again to see where there sitting again thank you!

Agreed with Randy, but if you already had coralline with that phosphate level, and now it's bleaching, it could be something else.
A temporary drop in pH caused by the reactor could explain this. How are you testing pH? Is the reactor hooked up to a controller?

I have had the same issue since I started using 2 part. Only it's only the coralline on the black glass bleaching. On my rocks it is still a good dark purple. Never really paid any attention to it until I saw this thread.
