AG Mission Cherry Stand for a 210

I bought a 210 AGA with a brand new "AG Mission Cherry" stand. I thought it was going to be real wood but its actually MDF.

Its a great looking stand with lots of room to fit the sump in from the front, and its not real beefy like the DIY stands people build with 4x4s or 2x4s. If it wasn't a commercially built stand I would question its strength to hold up my 210 filled with water, sand, rock and all. But since they manufactured it specific for the AGA 210, it must hold it up right?

The question is, is anyone using one of these stands for their large tank? What is your experience with it?

Im just building out the other components and havent tested this tank out on the stand yet, filled with water.

Any experiences out there with this stand?

i have had the same tank and stand setup for 2 years now and i have no problems with mine

I have one as well with the same tank for a little over a year and no issues. I like it a lot, though the look can be a little bit better.

They are made specifically for your tank and should hold up under "ideal conditions" The problem is if something goes wrong like a spillage or something and the stand gets wet, then the integrity of the stand will be compromise. Lets hope that doesn't happen.

I cant really find the manufacturer of this stand on the web. I really thought it was going to be made of wood, cherry wood actually..but its not.

they are made to be (waterproof)it's not just contact paper wraped around mdf it's the same laminating idea as pergowhich is supposed to be waterproof I have the maple with a 150gallon

I was gonna say the same as Rwinfrey and compare it to Pergo hardwood laminate.

I've had wood stand as well and i like this material much better. It's waterproof, easy to clean, and seriously looks very very close to wood.

Thats good to hear. Have you had to add any extra strengthening to the stand at all? It is essentially built with 1x4s (waterproof mdf 1x4s).

Everyone overbuilds their DIY stands.

It's alot of weight but its also distributed evenly over 12sqft.

Does anyone know the manufacturer of the AG Mission Cherry brand stands? Im having a hard time finding the specs for the 210g stand, especially the load rating information. I cant find any website either.

Is it not AGA? I found this thread doing a google search for "mission cherry" and it came up with a bunch of AGA links. I'm thinking of buying this same setup.

Also, note the AGA sticker on the left upper portion of the tank. If that's the same stand, then I would assume the stand is AGA.

You may also want to consider a BRI stand. They are well made, several folks on RC have their stands and are happy with them. Myself included.

Have you guy consider Oceanic oak stand. They are better built then the AGA mission cherry. Oceanic is real oak vs. Mission is more like laminate material. If you ever have a leak the oak will hold up better then laminate IMO. The priced is not that much more.
