Can anyone out there tell me EXACTLY which bulk heads i need to order from Savko for my AGA 180? I know i need the light weight ones but i dont know exactly which part number and model i need.

i believe they are 3/4" and 1" but what iv been reading is the aga tanks need the light weight bulk heads because they are slightly a different size or something

HI
The size of the wholes AGA drill are 1''3/4 and 1''1/2.
you will need a lightweight blukhead black and the bulkhead must have two treads in side uper and low, then you need a male
tread slip adapter so the flex pvc can be glued in side of the slip.
The guys at www.savko.com are the best.
i hope this helps.
Take care.

I just went through this with my tank. Eventually I purchased the megaflow accesssory kit. Everything is included and installs quickly.

brandon where did you get the mega flow accessory kit? did you get the corner over kit? thats all iv seen for the mega flows

Mine overflows in the middle of the tank. All the kit came with was the tubing and bulkheads. You can find them on drsfosterandsmith.com but I got mine at my LFS. I really like the standpipe that comes with the system. It is adjustable so you can fool with it to get it just right. You don't have to keep cutting the pipe to achieve the right height.

The New AGA overflow kits come with barbed bulkheads for vinyl tubing. I used the rest of the kit but bought new bulkheads from Savko so I could attach to PVC. I used the slip-slip bulkheads.

I did the same.

The hose barb bulkheads are no good IMO.

shnabbles,

The confusion lies in the hole size and bulkhead size. Two totally diffent numbers. The hole size is larger so that the bulkhead can fit inside the hole.

The reason why we call them 1" bulkheads, instead of calling them by the actual size of the hole they fit in, is because the 1" reffers to the size of pipes and fittings the bulkhead can accept.

A 3/4" bulkhead works with 3/4" pipes and fittings. Same with a 1.5" bulkhead etc., etc.,

I just went through this with my 180g. I know this may sound confusing but there are two sizes of 3/4" bulkheads - ones that fit a 1 3/4" hole and a 'smaller' one that fits a 1 1/2" hole. I didn't know this and ordered the 3/4" bulkheads from Savko but they were too big. I found the smaller ones at Premium Aquatics. You may want to call them before ordering to double check before ordering them.

I just went and ordered the mega flow overflow kit.. it comes with all the bulk heads the durso's and 2 return lines..

thanks for everyones help.

Hi,Im looking @ savko's website. Im confused. What does SS,ST and TT stand for. I have the same tank and also need bulkheads. But which ones?

SS= socket (slip) on the flange side and body side
ST= socket (slip) on the flange side and threaded on the body side
TT= threaded on the flange and body sides.

There are some places that might list ST as socket body and threaded flange but I think most list the flange side first. Best to check first if possible.

get whichever works best with your plumbing.

Miles, yeah -that one through me for a loop as well when I learned it :)

If you order from Savko, you must order the lightweight bulkheads. The Schedule 80 bulkheads will not fit the AGA drilled holes.

Also, I think it is easier to install a Durso if you have the flange side as a slip fit.
