aga megaflow return pump question

I am using a supreme mag drive 7 on my 90gal aga tank.It is the megaflow model.The overflow is rated for 600gal.My sump is only 20gal,and I need more flow and was thinking of replacing the current pump with a 9.5 pump.Anyone here push thier flow over the recommended rating?And,what other pumps are you guys using?

You can do a 9.5 or higher. If it's too much flow, put a "T" on the return line and feed some back to the sump controlled by a simple balll valve.
I initially bought a 9.5 for my 90AGA RR but sold it before I had a chance to set up the tank. I paid $20 to have my 30gal sump drilled for this pump and never looked back.

Thats a lot of water moving through a 20 gallon sump. Micro bubbles, etc. R

I think the Mag7 is fine for a 90G/20G. If you want more flow in the display, increase the display flow, not the sump flow. Add a good powerhead or two.

I have been thinking of the same thing.I already have 1 seio620,and one more shold be good enough.

I'm using 2 1500's on my 90 and really need even more flow for sps. It worked great on a mixed tank with anthelia and other softies on a tank that was a foot shorter but now it's still more softy friendly.
