I will QT the coral for 72 days (ich free). View attachment 323946 uploadfromtaptalk1437665928125.jpguploadfromtaptalk1437665945394.jpguploadfromtaptalk1437666004705.jpg

those fluval seem to be more geared towards freshwater planted tanks. they also seem woefully underpowered for saltwater applications.

what size tank are you using? my favorite QT fixture is a cheap T5HO unit. you can often find them used on CraigsList for a song.

+1

I use an older model of this fixture and it works well, even for SPS (at least the "easy" ones like montipora, porites and seriatopora).

The minimum that will keep some corals alive is a 6500 k bulb. It will not keep ALL corals alive. The T5s will go 10000k, which will keep the fussier ones alive.

Dude you need to slow down, your going way too fast. I know your looking for help and trying to save money but nothing good happens fast in this hobby. And nothing great comes from cheap equipment. ..especially for a newbie. Alot of the threads you posted could've just been 1 thread, and a lot of your questions have already been answered by other people in other threads you just have to look...read the stickies. When I first started this hobby I had way more questions then you but after I read All the stickies and searched for answers to my questions I finally got it. We all want to help you but your really making people confused. I know your trying to do this on a budget so why not read a lot and save some money so you can buy what you want what will work for this hobby. Cheap equipment won't get you far in this hobby. when you find yourself trying to answer other people's questions, then that's a good indication that your doing it right. Read read read and keep reading. Your going to find yourself lost really quick if you throw yourself into this hobby.
