hey guys once again i was helped out by one of you on here (VandyTime). I finally was able to sell my remora and i used the money from that to buy his coralife s s 65 and well.....im not sure i have it tuned in as good as can be, but after like 15 minutes hooked up it pulled out some cloudy smelly crap with even some solid organic matter in the cup, wife went to sleep so i emptied the cup and tomorrow i will see just what kind of crap i get :bounce3: also before i went over to his house i got 200 ml of purigen and 100 of it is now in my sump so im hoping with those two things in a week or so i can start getting some of this crap in my tank out.i was not expecting it,but thanks again for the gifted frags bud, i really wasnt expecting that and is very welcomed because as much as i love this hobby and adore under water marine/reef life there is a thing called cost/bugets and a lack there of in ones life at times and a gift as small as that means alot, anytime any ya guys cut a break in price or gift me things it means alot and i dont forget it very easily, though if i ever did just :hammer: on my head :eek1: lol if ya guys/gals need a hand/help or whatnot dont ya mind calling cause i dont mind doing what i can.....anyways im rambling here so i'll rap it up,thanks again Darrell and thanks to Rhett, Sean, Jennifer, Mike, also thanks to Pickup for answering all of my PMs lol and the rest of ya guys/gals that give advice on my threads.........BTW Darrell....cool looking aquariums :D

Mario, if you didnt get the manual for that thing. go download it from their website. also, there aer TOns of threads on RC that have differnet ways to fine tune those. one thing I will tell you as a tip is to keep the inlet for that hose (right by the pump) clean regularly. it will build up salt crust and restrict the air into it. I have also heard of folks hooking up an air pump to it to give them more air. just put you a needle valve in there to adjust the air.

The SS65 is a great skimmer for the money. I mesh modded mine and the thing became a beast, but the maintenance also turns into a beast (you have to clean more often... not a huge deal... but you also have to replace the mesh every month or two... that's a pain).

Just like Lindsey said, look up some mods for them. They're a pretty good skimmer overall.

Here's mine with the meshmod:

yeah guys i read a boat load about mods lol.....mods and more mods lol but its cool,i dont have an ATO right now so i have it where i had my remora which is on the out side of my sump on my drain line chamber so water level isnt a prob, when i hook an ATO i will move it into my return section....so far with no mods and not dialed in perfectly it is still tons better then the remora.......also i saw on youtube how someone...i cant remember what company is close to having a "mesh" system for skimmers like that mesh mod....which would be awesome....ofcourse the smaller the bubbles the better so it would be cool
