Ageing SaltWater

Just curious, how long does everyone age their saltwater?

My setup is a 30gal rubbermaid container, I use a needlewheel pump from my former skimmer for circulation and aeration. I generally don't heat it until I'm going to use it. I've found the salt dust 'smell' goes away after about 6 hours, generally th pH is also acceptable at that time as well. Is it ready? Is it better to let it sit a day, 2 days, a week?

Some say 24hours with constant aeration and a heater. I generally wait overnight. I'll mix it before i go to bed, stick an air pump/air stone and a heater in there, and change the water in the morning. I always make sure the parameters are the same... ph / temp/ salinity/ etc...

I have a Maxijet in my mixing container. At a minimum, I let it go overnight. My usual habit is to finish a water change by re-filling and mixing the next batch, so it ages until I am ready to do the next change - days of weeks later.

I have a 7 gallon bucket, I put the water in first, throw in the heater and a old powerhead and then add the salt, I let it mix for at least 24 hours and then do my WC. If the salinity is wrong after 24 hours (does not happen anymore) then I adjust and alow another 24 hours before rechecking/doing the wc.

I mix in a 30 gallon rubbermaid and let it sit at least overnight. I usually keep some water mixed in it for an "emergency" if needed. Just keep a pump going and heat it up before adding.

I normally mix a new batch right after doing my weekly water change - so I'll always have readily available saltwater. I'll let it mix for the whole week with a small powerhead. Usually I test salinity and ph the day prior to the change.

This strategy has proven to be helpful in a couple of emergency situations where I needed a quick water change.

Is it safe to have RO/DI water (fresh) in a BRUTE for a week? I run air for circulation. What do you guys think?

When I change my water, I make up fresh RO/DI that I use for top off...I just hope its ok to store it for a while.

Thanks!
