AgentSPS' 300 Gallon ***DreamReef***

Awesome thread AgentSPS. I'm about to enter the world of salt water myself, I'm turning my fresh water Fluval Edge into a nano reef tank. not quite as exiting as yours but I'll get on your level some day.

P.S. Thanks again for the m3, it's tucked away in the garage for winter lol.

Hi Ryan-

Good to hear from you! Nano tanks are great! Might need to upgrade that Fluval lighting to LEDs or something with more par.

Glad you are enjoying the M3. I def miss it sometimes. Have you done anything new to it? I was very close to buying another newer M3 but decided on a C63 instead. LOVE IT!!

Still trying to find some free time for some updated photos but in the meantime I picked up some new additions:

I stand corrected Spathulata. Out of all the Aussie acro this one has me the most excited! Pink and yellow combination as just plan sick! I have only seen one other acro that is similar to this one, but in the verse, yellow tip with a pink base. I sure have it coming to my door step soon. And yes if you do every decided to sell a frag.... my PM box will be open ;).

Great minds think alike! I almost pulled the trigger on it but was too busy looking for other corals or fish to add to the order. Congrats and thanks dude!! You just saved me $200+!:)

Hey Erik,

I've been doing some research on other Fluval Edge reef tanks and i think im going to do a lighting set up similar to the one shown at the end of this video:

Although instead of covering the individual bulbs I'm planning on placing this special kind of light refracting plastic over the tank opening to help diminish a spot light effect and to protect the lighting form moisture. Like i said I'm still in the planning phase, I'll probably get started closer to Christmas when I have time off. Any input, tips, or advice would be appreciated.

The M3 is doing really well, the only thing i have done to is so far is put in a better sound system. I'm planning on upgrading the exhaust sometime in the spring. If you wanna take it for a spin when the weather gets better just let me know, I'd like to check out the "DreamReef" again and see your new wheels. I think you made the right choice with the C63 I don't really like what they have done with the newer M3's. The 414hp v8 is pretty good but the exterior just isn't as pleasing as the early 2000's.

Damn and just when I was getting over the guilt of spending this much on myself when I still have xmas shopping to do :furious:

Alright found a little time this evening to clean up the glass and snap some half way decent pics. Camera is on its last leg though and half the files were corrupted :( Def seen a lot of growth since my last FTS.

Incredible pics Erik. It looks to be about 200% fuller than the last time that I saw it in person. I'm starting to pick up on acro colonies again so we might have to trade again soon...:D

are you still running the Tunze return pumps?
and how do you like them?
would you use them again, and would you change anything or recommend them?

does your foxface nip your corals?

Yeah just like my tangs but never seems to do any damage to the tissue. Unlike the three large Moorish Idols I had in my last tank that decided they liked the taste of corals after a year of being in the tank :furious:
