I cannot keep xenia. I recently aquired some pulsing xenia I got home this morning and something had eaten all of it down to just a few small nubs of the stalks. I hope it will grow back, I'm not counting on it. :thumbdown

Have you found out what is eating them? That could be a problem you need to fix now before it eats other corals later on.

I had a purple tang destroy some electric blue Cespit. Within 2 minutes of me removing my hands from the tank, it had devoured nearly the entire colony. I can't get it to touch Anthelia, though... Have a friend with some sort of pygmy angel that after 8 years, turned on his acans, then all other LPS (and also loved the Electric Blue Cespit). On some corals, it can be a blessing in diguise;).

Two of my pigmy angels (C. argi) developed a taste for blue zoanthids. I love the fish, but I am too scared to have one of them now....

Well, today while doing some maintenance and fragging I noticed the xenia is startin to sprout out so maybe it will spread and will be left alone. Does anyone know if a sally lightfoot will eat the xenia because the coral bueaty seems disinterested? Oh by the way since I moved the tank back to the liveng room and it cycled again I keep finding things I never knew were living in there mostly polyps and mushrooms but it's always fun finding new critters.

If you find whats eating eat let me borrow it !!!!!! I have some that i have pulled off then kalked all the new that came up and it still came back.. Its nice until you see it growing off you polyps and sps
