Aggressive fish you've had to remove...

Alrighty then!

Question: Has anyone ever had an aggression problem with a Yellow Watchmen?

Im sure its been said already in this thread, but i am not going to read through it.

Every fish is different. I have a damsel (oh no...a damsel!!! "THEY ARE MEAN"), that is the meakest of all critters in the tank. Not every 6 line will be a terror, but boy do they move like it! lol....

I had to totally tear down a 55 to get out a Flame Angel that almost ate an open brain the size of my hand! Needless to say he was not very happy to be taken out of his underwater buffet.

I had a Flame Angel in my 30 gallon Oceanic tank that would beat up on my black and white clowns. Took him out pretty quick.

I have to say, this thread is shocking...

...I thought that it was well known that many of these species are aggressive -- maroon clown, tomato clown, 6 line wrasse, green brittle star, large tang. Similarly, one must search for "less aggressive" species of damsels and pseudos/dottybacks.

when i had a fowlr tank my clown trigger would not leave my dog face puffer or blue hippo tang alone. so i cought him and put him in the sump for about two months. the only food he had was whatever went through the over flow. when i put him back in the tank he never botherd anything. he must have learned his lesson!!

I had a yellow tail damsel to start the tank, I had to take him out, he was chasing the tangs around!

A good example of what i am talking about, i have the same fish....but its the biggest baby in the tank. It must have been beaten as a puppy...it hides at the slightest sign of trouble.

Lots of Dottyback removals I see. I also had to remove one but was a Bicolour when I had a 50g. My favourite fish since I was about 12 though but a terror to anything near its size.

Trying to remove my BLUE TANG (didn't see any others in this thread). I was shocked to find out that my Blue Tang will

a) Outcompete everthying in the tank for food
b) Nip at my trigger
c) Harrass my wrasses
d) Generally annoy my blenny

He's getting traded in. The main problem is that he just outgrew all the other fish by a margin of 2:1 because he's an amazing eater...

Had to removed the WSM clown after numerous sandstorms. Took out about 100lbs of LR and 3 hrs later to get it out .Broke a bunch of SPS in the process too.

I am currently working to get a breeding pair of large clarkii clowns out of my reef. They are bullies to the T.

A few months ago, I put a school of chromis in there. They systematically dragged each one into the nem in about 10 min.

Algae Blennies can be very aggressive if left alone in a tank for two months. Once I tried to put new fish in he had claimed the whole tank and would chase any new comers.

Well I have to mention that
a pair of maroons where given there own tank and anything with in a six inch radious of her anemone she would removed or kill and if the anemone moved she would maintain both areas.

Fish that I have had to remove where in a previous tank I added and sohal and hypo tang and the same time and the sohal was just going to kill the hypo.

In this tank I have had to removed a hypo tang, I got him when he was 2 inch and grew him over 6 inches and he started to become very big pain and was going to kill a french that was even bigger that him. As well I have to remove a pacific sail fin with the same results.

My 125 was cycled and in need of fish, I "allowed" my wife to pick out a couple of fish while I was at work. I came home to find two domino Damsels.:uzi:
I have tried fish traps, nets, rock removal, just the other day the kids and i used shiska-bob skewers and rubber bands to spear fish them out of tank. Of course it didn't work but it was a raucus good time trying....when I upgrade to the 265 DT the dominos are going back to the store. I miss my old Lunar Wrasse, he would try to eat new fish through the bags when they touched the water Too bad the sequence was out of whack.:crazy1:

It's currently still in the tank, but my flame angel's nipping habit has gotten a bit too much for the corals to bear. Doesn't seem to nip enough to kill any of them, but growth is definitely being stunted and my Pocillopora is on the way out if I don't nix him. Any ideas for ways to capture him without a full deconstruct?

I had to remove a small klein's butterfly that would harass tangs twice its size. He ended up stressing and killing a blue tang I had.
