Not sure because I haven't kept a mantis with a trigger, but I am pretty sure the trigger will eat it. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

If it is a 29 i am sorry but it is to small for the trigger.

I do not think you should add any tank mates with that trigger. Is that a standard 29 gallon?

Thats even worse for the trigger I would not keep him in that tank very long.
Like others have stated you are going to have some serious issues trying to keep the tank's levels in order. The bioload from the trigger alone is going to overwhelm the 20 gallon in no time.
But-- Like 95% of people just go ahead and do as you like. Most of the fish we keep can probably live 20+ years and you'll be hard pressed to find any that even live a quarter of their life expectancy. I guess they failed the survival of the fitest test when they were captured.

Go on www.youtube.com and look at trigges in a 20 gallon. Iv seen a guy who has a 20 gallon with a lionfish, trigger fish, and a snowflake eel.

How big was the trigger? Eventualy he will get about half the size of your tank.
