Agressive Wrasse

I just added a Powder Brown to my tank which already contained a Pink Margin Wrasse, a Perc, a Bi-color Blenny, a Midas Blenny and a Dusky jawfish.

Before the addition of the PBT they all lived happily and no one showed agression. The first half hour the pink margin hid in the rockwork while the PBT explored the tank. Then suddenly the Pink Margin began following the PBT and flaring its fins then attacking it. I feed them in seperate areas of the tank and then turned out the lights. Everyone is in bed and things are calm.

I am worried about tomorrow when the lights come on and I am not here to watch them interact. I don't want to add any undue stress to the PBT but don't think I can get the Pink Margin out unless I tear the rockwork out tomorrow night.

Anyone had a Pink Margin turn agressive then settle back down? Will they be alright tomorrow?

I have 2 Pink Margins and both are usually pretty mellow, they both calm down in about a day or less, although your 55 doesn't give a lot of space to get away from one another.

If it really does come down to removing the wrasse, assuming he's an aggressive feeder like a lunare (your description of him makes me think so, although I really know nothing about your particular species) he should be very easy to trap. I had to get all my fish out of a tank, and the lunare wrasse and flame hawk were the easiest, even though they (well, the wrasse anyway) are really fast. I just baited a "fish corral" trap and they couldn't get in there fast enough! I'm still trying to get my clowns out though :(
