AI HYDRA 52 with AI SOL controler

Hey guys just wondering if the original small ai sol controller will work with the Hydra 52?
I heard the AI director sucks and I can't find the New AI controller anywhere

The only problem I had with my director was initially getting it configured. I ended up hard wiring a LAN cable to it and running the lights wirelessly and have had zero problems since. Its just a matter of having everything within range.

I'm pretty sure you need the new controller (Or director) for the Hydra and Hydra 52 (Non-HD). I've owned both and the director is way better, IMO. You have more flexibility with the director and its web interface. The buttons on the new controller can be a little clunky/clumsy too when configuring (At least for the earlier version that had the buttons as part of the face plate.)

Are you referring to the original controller that just had a single knob? If so you cannot use that controller. If you have the newer styles that look like an ipod, you have to have the controller with the rubber buttons for proper functionality.
