Ai led

I contacted AI for a frag tank I got 22x22x12 inquiring if a nano would suffice. They said the nano should be enough coverage if I have the unit at minimum 8'' above water line.

I think 1 AI would be more than enough for your tank. A nano if you don't care about some shadowing in the outside corners.

If I'm not mistaken I remember hearing that a single AI sol would cover a 24" by 24" area. I have a 50G SPS tank (2' cube) supported by a single AI sol module and everything is doing great.

IMO I would not spend $100 more and wait for the Vega, I run 2 AI SOl on a 90 gal and everything it is doing great (SPS). Save the $100 and put into coral.

You may be right, but its a bigger toss up. Many have had success with the Sols, many havent. The Vegas give a better chance for success. For $100 more he can gain a broader spectrum and better colors as well as a fuller, warmer look.

I had 2 AI Sol Blues and I'll put it lightly and say they weren't great.

1 AI is 12x12 as a general rule. I would put 2 over that frag tank.

I have 3 of them over a 36x36 and I could use 2 more.
