I installed the new AI PRIME HD LED Light two weeks ago. still figure out the settings. There are so many different options and upon reading and reading, everyone seems to have a different preference.

Anyway, light is working great and I have it set to acclimation. It's an awesome light. Except one problem, as of yesterday, the Lunar Mode was working fine. Today, the Lunar cycle mode is not turning on.

I have my light set up as follows on a 10 gallon Innovative Fusion:

Sunrise: 8:30am
Sunset: 6pm
2 Hour Ramp

UV - 100%
Violet 100%
Royal 100%
Blue 100%
Green 20%
Deep red 20%
Cool White 48%

WHY is the Lunar cycle not turning on today August 1, 2016?
Is the unit defective?
Is this a common problem with this new Prime HD Light?

Thanks.

Do you understand the lunar cycle feature on the ai prime? It auto adjusts your light intensity based on the lunar cycle. So during a new moon phase you will have no light at night. During waxing you will have 25% power and so on until 100% for full moons.

You must have a minimum of 5% light set for night also. So if you use accimate that will cut the nightlight percentage also. So if te light falls below the 5% threshold and is at a new moon or waxing phase it will not come on.

Is the cycle actually working and it's on a new moon cycle by chance?

I'm not sure I understand your last question?

Thank you for explaining it. So it works depending on the actual calendar moon cycle?

What do you recommend I should have my settings at for a 10 gallon Innovative Fusion. Just 2 very small clownfish and 4 corals.

Mine should be arriving any day.

I was planning on using mine to cycle, do you know what an ideal setting for cycling a tank would be? acclimation mode to prevent algae, or strong lighting to encourage bacteria growth?

Bacteria does not need light. I wouldn't use it at all if there is no livestock, it's just going to promote algae.

I don't know what corals you have in your IM 10g but in my mixed tank I'n only running at 60%. Start slow with these lights or your corals will catch on fire :)

yes it goes by true moon cycle by date. if you have acclimate on and that + mooncycle position = less than 1% the light will not go on.
