AI Sol Blue Color Modification

..... Do you think one heatsink with 3x of the neutral whites with 60 degree optics will provide enough balance or should I go with 6?

You have to use at least 8 LEDs because the minimum output voltage for the driver is 24v. Using less than 8 LEDs will likely destroy them. You will find this info on RapidLED's website.

100% is the prob

100% is the prob

I think having the 100% white is the main issue here. It is too much white and "bleaches" out the colors. Try turning the white down to around 30% or 40 max and I think you will like the colors much better.

Nice thread here that I'm reactivating!

Very good mods with great results vboss!

I'm looking at buying AI Sol blue but having in mind to replace one LED per fixture with a red LED of some sort to get the pop-up the Radion is providing at twice the price. Have you ever thought of replacing a LED directly on the fixture? I'm thinking especially about replacing some of the blue color LED (not rblue) that may already have enough.

I'd like to get ahold of a couple of blank/dead pucks to play around with reflowing a few different emitters on. I'd like to replace one emitter per module with a UV or near-UV, possibly a deep red, and a few neutral whites. Might be fun.

Have you done the mod finally? If so, can you tell more?

With the recent spectrum comparison article from Sanjay,(http://www.advancedaquarist.com/201...ider&utm_medium=slider&utm_campaign=clickthru) info are getting more accessible and helps to take some decisions.
