AI Sol Blue users please help

So I bought AI sol blue from a reefer recently. He said it was working perfect. So the lights turned on a few times but sometimes they don't turn on at all but the fan will turn on. And I'm talking just plugged into a regular outlet. Not programmed to an apex or anything.

Is it a short or something? Part of the heat sink on the very edge is a little bent but I didn't think that would cause an issue.

Just curious what you guys thought.

you can try contacting AI support. could be that the driver board is bad. i've replaced a few of those in my Vegas. i think you can still order replacement drivers for the SOLs from AI.

when they don't turn on, you can't get them to turn on by pressing the button, right?

button? what button? i looked everywhere on the unit and I don't see a button.

I contacted AI support and waiting to hear back from them. I can't seem to find a circuit board that I could purchase on their site or anywhere else.

Does anyone have one for sale??

I doubt you'll find parts listed online for purchase - these would be handled by their tech support team.

Are you running the light through the AI controller? I have an AI Sol Blue also on one tank and had the same issue at first. I traced it back to a bad controller box - salt had crept inside and corroded a small chip in the power section of the board. It caused the lights to only come on intermittently. If I recall, when you hook it up with no controller it comes on full blast.

It is not hooked up to any controller. Directly to the outlet and it does not turn on. I have a feeling i may need a new circuit board.

Not sure if it's worth shipping to AI, shipping cost to return from AI and parts and labor. May not be worth it since i could buy another one used for $120.
