AI Sol or Sol Nano??

Hi All,

I will be getting a shallow tank 36x24x12 and going to go with LED lighting. The new Ecotech Radion is super sweet but my pocket is not that deep.

With that said, I will be going with the AI LEDs. My question now is whether I should get the AI Sol or Sol Nano? I am planning on getting 2 units. Would 2 AI Sol be overkill? Any suggestions?

The tank will mainly have LPS/soft corals. I might do some SPS but not sure yet. I've tried SPS with small success.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

A single SOL just won't cover that area real well. Two nano's would be about the same, but should cover the tank a bit better as you can at least spread them out more.

I think 2 Sol would be perfect. Start out with your power levels low, especially since it is such a shallow tank.

Yup sorry, misread that. Two sols would be perfect. For some reason I read it as 1 sol or two nano's. I think I've been starring at a computer too long LOL.

I have two AI sol on a 36" tank. I wish I had one more. The nanos aren't going to be close to enough light IMO.

X2 on that one. I bought one for my 40 breeder. (couldn't afford 2 at a time). When it came in I turned it on, holding it in position where it would be if I had two, and I was not impressed with the spread. Lots of dark spots. I will probably end up buying 2 more for a total of 3. :headwally:
