i think i might have one but i have a couple questions-

when you go to touch them do they hide /move or what?

do they stay in the same place in the tank or move aroun dthe tank>

the one that i thought i had just stays in one place and when i go to touch him he just curls up a little bit and then comes back out--he never moves around the tank same spot for a week or so even after i touched him with a turkey baster

i cant get a picture do to his location but he is about 1/2 inch hollow white tube on the bottom with about 15 very small tentacles around the top edge--- bottom of him is white and tentacles are brownish

ideas? and input

They will retract when you touch them.

They usually dont travel like anemones but will reproduce quickly.

You need to kill it before it reproduces. I reccomend joes juice. Its like 8 bucks at marinedepot.com

They can move but if they find a spot they like they tend to stay there.
A syringe with white vinegar. inject it into them and they usually die instantly.Extremely easy to get rid of this way.
So easy you'll wish you had more to kill.

LOL

Just out of curiosity do you mean like, a syringe with an actual needle attached? or like, the syringe part where its just the piston\plunger sort of part?

I don't have any except I just noticed 1 tiny one as a hitchiker on a frag I got and would like to nuke it before it dispenses babies.. its awfully close to a zoa so definitely riding along on this one!

Are you sure it isn't just a feather duster? The hollow white tube doesn't sound like aiptasia.

the tube that it is one is about 1/16 to 1/18 of an inch around about 1/2 inch long maybe little less

its bigger around (circumference) then any feather duster i have seen but also it just doesnt act like a pest thats trying anything in my tank-- he never leaves the same spot even after i touch him- he also doesnt retract very far to the point that if i was a predator i coul deasily kill him- i guess i was under the impression that aiptasia where very tricky and would dissapear as soon as they felt danger-- he doesnt act like this at all he will retract just a little and then come back a second later-- i killed one today that i belive was a aiptasia he was much clearer and when i touched him he sunk into the rock to the opint i could barley see him -- just not really sure about this one

when they breed do there offspring look like them or do they look like any of the various aiptasia that i have seen?> if they will look just like him i might wait to see if he produces anything looking like does then kill em all

the white tube that i spoke of is also not like a feather duster, as in its not built, but it is more a tissue part of his body
