Not sure if I should post this here, since this is a post for anemonie lovers. I have had a LTA in the past that I loved but it outgrew a 30g tank I had, but anyway. How do I get rid of these little aitasias? In my 7 years of reefing I've never come accross these animals. Can anyone suggest haow to get rid of them?

how did you manage to get an aptasia after 7 years?...I'd say you've been livin the easy life.

Welcome to the party of how to get rid of them. You could get Peppermint shimp...hit or miss...copperband butterfly....hit or miss....berghia nudis...will die when they are gone...an assortment of butterfly's...none that are reef safe...joes juice...they will come back...aiptasia X...they will come back...kalk paste...they'll come back....

many people have had success with one of the above, but for the most part they will come back. Literally the only sure fire way is to kill start with new rock (dry rock), let it mature to live rock and never introduce it (aiptasia) in your tank.

I didn't introduce it. My current ank is two years old. I didn't start sseing them untill about 3-4 months ago. Have they been dormant that long?

I did try injecting lemon juice into a few and it worked. Trouble is some are so tiny and with a 90g tank it's hard getting down near the bottom.
