Aiptasia issues...

i would suggest that you purchase the correct stuff as most home remidies will kill the single aptasia but it will release spores in an attempt to survive and you will actually spread it . you can try a home remedy but you will learn the hard way and in a month you will have a bunch of babies wherever they get blown . best wishes

Sorry, I meant to write that in. Thanks for that info. That is another reason why I would recommend a treatment of the ones that you see and a biological treatment.

I've just got a 29 gallon tank with about 30lbs of rock, so there's not many hiding places for it. Not only that, but with only about 4 of them, I can't yet justify spending $25 on store bought stuff.

however, I tried the vinegar. I turned the powerhead and filter off, got a syringe and squirted it on them...about 5hrs ago, and so far I haven't seen any of them come back out of their holes. One of them, I can see in the hole, and it's all shriveled up. I don't think they released spores. If I'm correct, it looks like a milky liquid coming out when they release spores, right?

A little advice. Stay on them since it is early. Check often and treat asap. if you have a sump, check there too. Remember that they do not need light- I don't think. There are plenty of places to hind in 30lbs of live rock-- unless you have 1 piece that ways 30lbs like me :spin1: Good going, and good luck. you will be fine. keep us updated.

if you pierce the aptasia that is when it releases its spores as an attempt to survive . you must cover the entire disc with aptasia x or joes juice as that is where the spores are and also the mouth so it gets consumed and kills the spores too, simple and it works .
does anyone read directions thease days ?
