Aiptasia Problem

I have just acquired live rock with tons of Aiptasia, i will be cooking the rock soon... will this eliminate the Aiptasia? or should i add something while cooking???

No, that wont kill aptasia. You'll either have to get a peppermint shrimp or 2 (highly recommend) or inject them with Joe's Juice, vinegar, or hot water...for me only the last 2 worked as far as injecting them. Joes juice never did much for me.

OR you could get a few peppermint shrimp AND inject as many as you can find. The peppermints should get a bunch of the loose ones that you couldnt find or reach.

Last thing you could do...get an aptasia eating nudi (i think thats what they're called). Its a nudibranch that only eats aptasias, so you're gonna have to find it a new home with aptasia after yours are gone, otherwise it WILL die.

If you are going to be cooking the live rock anyway, I would just kalk them to death first. Make up some kalk paste with Mrs. Wages pickling lime and give them a good squirt. There are commercial products available like Joes Juice and Aiptasia Control as well.

what is kalk paste?? where do i get it

Dissolve some kalkwasser (can find it at the LFS) in water and inject the pasty stuff from the bottom once it all settles.
