aiptasia problem

I have been having an aiptasia problem for quite some time now. I have used all the products and they kill them but they return later and much more. I found a website about nudibranchs that only kill aiptasia. They are raised specifically for this purpose. I emailed them and got some good responses to why they may be returning and I am going to try some of these to rid them naturally instead of trying to keep up with the ones that keep coming back. Here was his response to my email.
Maybe it can help some other people that have this problem.

His response: Normally we would recommend starting with one per every 10 to 12 gallons in reefs that are less than about 200 gallons in size. In a 60 gallon that would be 5 or 6, but, one of the unfortunate things with your tank full of Aiptasia is the chemical you tried. This chemical as well as all forms of chemical or injection type attack on Aiptasia adds dissolved solids to the water and will cause the Aiptasia to spawn.
Then the originals grow back it is like they are on steroids after that and then come the babies too tiny to see right now. Very nutritious and more difficult to get under control. But in spite of this, there is a strategy that will help you. First you get a colony of the nudibranches started in your tank. Don't worry about trying to solve this all in one sweep because that might prove to be a little disappointing at first.
Then wait on the first start colony to work. After about 3 to 4 months, if you are not seeing the results or some kind of progress, add a booster colony. We have always succeeded with this phased approach, even in the most difficult of tanks.

That was most of the response that I received from them about this issue and I am purchasing some for there next shipment on the 23rd. I will report my results on here in case anyone is interested. If anyone has any experience with these please let me know about it. Thank you.

I have good luck useing peppermint shrimp. They are hit and miss but if they do your apitasia will be gone in a matter of a few days. The only problem with nudis is they will get sucked up in power heads and overflows.Just let us know how it goes.

I have had the berghias and they did a bang up job in my tank a few years back. It was just a 65g with only a light sprinkling of the aiptasias but they took care of them just fine. \
They should thrive in your tank with such a huge amount of food supply they will have.

I have also had excellent success with peppermint shrim but again, not nearly the breakout amount like you have.

good luck! keep us posted

I would not waste my time and money with the bergia. I put 8 in my 55 gal. They disappeared within a month. Tank still has the aiptasia minus the bergia and all my money that I spent on them.
