air bubbles

Over the past few days air bubbles have started forming in a dead zone on top of the sand in my tank.

There is brown algae growing there as well.

Any ideas on how to remove the air bubbles and what might be causing them?

Also, what can I buy in terms of a cleanup crew that eats or removes brown algae.

I am planning on installing a new powerhead to help remove the dead spot.

Are the air bubbles bad? I have never had them in a tank ever.

They are very small. If they were green, I would suspect that they were bubble algae.

my sand was turning brown till i got a sand sifting goby the air bubbles could be gas releasing from the algae remove the dead spot and your problem should go away IMO im no expert
